Atlanta came into New York, and 2 plays later the Giants were already celebrating in the end zone.
This game was a scorefest. The Atlanta defense tightened up in the 2nd half and held New York to a couple of 4th downs inside their own 20, which New York managed to desperately convert.
The Giants drove to the Atlanta 22 in the final minute of the 4th quarter. After missing a potential touchdown catch, the Giants settled for a field goal attempt. And it was wide right.
Atlanta now has 18 seconds left on the clock before overtime. Vick drops back and throws a long pass down the middle of the field, the receiver catches it, and runs away from the pursuing Giants secondary, who nearly tackle him as he finally runs into the end zone with only 4 seconds left on the clock.

It is true, the Gmen decided to try and run the clock down and it ended up biting us in the butt. Glad to learn this lesson in regular season.
Gmen scored fast and effortlessly almost all afternoon. Atlanta is very effective at running around and lobbing up passes into triple coverage. Very, very good at that. Will have to adjust.
Gmen appear unstoppable (except when stopping ourselves running the clock down) on offense. Looking forward to the rematch.

The Gmen had 2 fourth downs inside their own 20 yard line, and afraid that their defense couldn't bail them out, even though they led or were tied the entire game, they went for 2 fourth downs inside their own 20, and converted them by the hair on Jeremy Shockeys chin.

The only time the G-men ever saw 3rd down, let alone 4th was during series with drops. Why wouldn't they go for it on 4th, it was like taking candy from a baby.
We didn't need miracle 4th down converstions into triple coverage. Just crisp quick passes to wide open guys (all day).

We completed one 4th down the entire game, and it was a long 4th and goal in the 1st half to Warrick Dunn for a TD. Going for 4th down inside your own 20 yard line when the game is tied really indicates lack of faith in the defense or more certainly desperation

It indicates a total lack of respect for your defense. The results did the talking in that regard. In fact both defenses were horrific.

It indicates desperation when you go for it on 4th down. The deeper in your own territory, the more desperation.
I think you made the best choice at the end of the game with your medium field goal attempt. You have a good kicker, inexperience at kicking FG's was the only reason you missed. The Madden field goals are easier than Bill Walsh, with the skinnier FG posts.
I made a lucky play at the end of the game, that long bomb for a touch down. All you needed was a sack, incompletion or tackle right after the catch.
I almost got sacked, ran back into the top of my end zone, and back up to the line of scrimmage and launched that last desperation pass. The tight ends route was jammed, and he crossed across the field, catching the ball deep, and running at that same angle into the left corner of the end zone.
I am not sure if I had any time outs if I had gotten tackled, and there were only 4 seconds left on the clock when I scored.
