Stanford led 21-7 with Kansas driving at midfield with 1:00 remaining in the 1st half. On a 2nd down option play, the qb kept the ball and ran for about 12 yards and was smacked and fumbled, the Stanford defender picked up the ball and ran 60 yards untouched for a td to make it 28-7 at the half.
In the 2nd half Kansas scored, made it 28-14, and played aggressive defense and forced 2 picks, and scored on the 2 following drives to make it 28-28 with about 4:30 remaining in the game. Next, Stanford drove and took a 35-28 lead.
Kansas looking to tie it up again, drove down to the Stanford 4 yard line with about 1 min remaining, and fumbled into the end zone, recovered by Stanford.
Stanford was held to 3 and out, and punted to midfield. Kansas drove to the Stanford 7 yard line, and on the last play of the game, a pass to an open slot receiver on the goaline was tipped as the last second ticked off.
