Hey all!
I first want to say thanks to deadmeow on the madden guide.....I came across this board wondering if there was anyone out there that likes other genesis sports titles besides NHL series or the TECMO FREAKS for the NES (TECMO is fun but doesn't really measure up to the enjoyment that the Madden and Montana series brought on the Genesis.
SO....I have decided to start a project on the NFL Prime Time and edit it with 2013 rosters.....I hope to have it "done" by Week 14 of the real NFL season.......
Well at least "done" by my standards.....I'm very new to hex editing ROMS....BUT....I have experimented and confirmed correct changes to the names of the players....Jersey Numbers and all attribute ratings that are assigned....
I do not know where to find the pictures for the "money" players yet for editing and I'm not sure how to add 2 more teams and re-align the divisions. ( I have some ideas though considering that there are already 6 extra teams on the ROM)
I at least will have the original 30 teams from that NFL era with updated 2013 Rosters.....I might figure the other stuff out as I go along
I will release some documentation on the ROM edit when I get further along in case anybody is interested.....Don't know if anyone here has played any of the later Joe Montana series but those football games got real serious in the 96' and 97' editions. The games were very deep and detailed for the time they came out.

Hi Mike,
This is the only site I know of that is concerned with sports games other than Tecmo Series and NHL94.
As far as re-aligning divisions in NFL primetime, it seems like you would be stuck with the old 6 division format. In order to re-align you would have to shuffle team data to another team's "slot".
Good luck with your project!

Well I have gotten 50% of the Atlanta Falcons Done with the Money Players also in Place.....(Pictures still the same) Can't seem to find where the control characters are for setting how many letters are placed into the name of the player though....so I just forged ahead!!! I even adjusted the ratings on some of the players to resemble with I believe is closer to the current player I'm putting in. The game seems to have no problem with me adjusting ratings and placing the new names in but when I start messing with the Jersey Numbers....College attended.....how many years the player played in the NFL or the Overall rating the ROM freaks out even after correcting the Check sum.....I will figure more stuff out as I go along I'm sure......Just wanted to update ya all out there on my progress.....

Well.....I'm Back......I ended up dumping or giving up on my NFL Prime Time edit and have completed a ROM Hack for Madden 95. I ended up putting in all the players from 2012 with newly assigned attributes too. The game leans to the defensive side as far as attributes go.....
So far I have played 2 full weeks or 4 games so far 2 as the Packers with A. ROGERS leading the way and K.C. Chiefs......
The 28 teams, players, and the players are based on 2012 completed season standings and statistics. I did it based on what I thought would work right.....
After testing and some viewing of various Teams rosters......I have some tweaking to do......
Some Examples are....Larry Fitzgerald on the Cardinals is rated as 79 overall where the receiver opposite of him is overall 89 (Andre Roberts)
I used a Hexadecimal program that was free I think it's XVI32. It has some limitations but it gets the job done. The ROM has strictly been edited for just players names and attributes and the original 28 teams. Jersey numbers were left alone for pretty much 98% of the ROM. The reason for switching to the Madden Platform and choosing 95' was based on the fact of the introduction of what we see now in alot of today's Madden games but this edition was pretty easy against the computer and all the players were too fast!!! IMO.....anyway.....
I also am playing as the K.C. Chiefs due to the team finishing 2-14 in the regular season for 2012 to see how difficult it is to play as them against the computer.... so far I'm 3-0.... list below...........
Week 1 31-28 vs Chargers Week 2 38-26 at Oilers Week 3 42-31 vs Raiders Week 4 ??-?? vs Seahawks
The Packers are easy to win with .....I've also only allowed 3 points so far in 2 games I have the Giants next but really the Packers current schedule is weak and I only expect some resistance in about 6 games max (2 Games a piece against the Lions and Bears and Vikings with the 49ers so that's seven but the Vikings only scare me due to Adrian Peterson.
I also noticed that the game needs attribute tweaks for all teams on return guys for punt and kick returns.....The current attributes setup for the ROM is too high for the special teams return guys
That's all for now in my little world............
HEY BTY......If anyone knows where to direct me to a game editor for the Madden Series setup like NOSE for the NHL Series I would love that!!!! I Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!!

holy crap!!! that's awesome dude!!!! you are da man.....I just don't have the resources or know the resources to put the pictures in like that and so on....I am assuming you created a game editor like the NOSE program for NHL series.......I think that is so cool (your picture) of the game in action....... I also have started editing Tecmo Super Bowl I for the genesis. I'm doing a retro setup of the 1989 season with new attributes and stuff....that was a fun year for the Packers 10-6 finish but missed the playoffs the year prior to the NFL adding the extra wild card. The year of Majic Majkowski.
Did you use just a hexadecimal program to do what you showed??

Thanks Mikey! No program exists to my knowledge that can edit this game, everything was done manually with Hex Workshop and Tile Molester. Perhaps you would be willing to learn and we could work on a complete update? All of the money players, uniforms and helmets can be edited but I don't believe there is a way to add franchises and change divisions etc. Oh, I've met Don Majkowski a few times, nice fella.

I wonder if there are similarities between Sega Sports games as I am trying to edit ATP Championship Tennis and it is easy to edit the text but I cannot find where in the hex are the player images and more importantly the player ability attributes are stored.
