UCLA took a 14-0 lead against Pitt, after Pitts first 2 punts were returned 55 and 45 yards for TD's.
From there it was back and forth. Late in the game Pitt caught on fire, and the defense forced some nice turnovers. Hurting UCLA chances were a goaline fumble in the 3rd, and a intercepted sceen pass from UCLA to Pitt at the UCLA 20.
UCLA down 8 pts, 42-34 In the final seconds of the game with the clock draining under 50 seconds, and only 1 timeout, UCLA called a rushed a play at the Pitt 15 yard line and threw a bad pass quickly that was picked off.
Pitt ran the clock out and clinched the W!

Pitt was relentless after a rough first half where they were 2 of 14 passing for a only 14 yards. Trailing 31-14 with 1 minute left in the 3rd quarter, Coach Brett gathered the troops and told them it was an embarrassment to be coaching them as they were losing to an inferior UCLA team. From there it was all Pitt as they went on a 28-3 run to end the game.
