Baltimore jumped out to a 21-7 lead over Carolina. Kega Fusion had been acting strange for me, with like half a second delay, which really had been hurting me. For example I caught a screen pass on 3rd down, and instead of going up the field 2 yards for the first down, the RB kept running out of bounds before I could turn him.
By the second half I realized the problem must be a setting in Kega Fusion, and I unchecked "high priority" in the options tab, and the game went back to normal, with a better degree of responsiveness when moving players.
However, Baltimore had a 21-7 lead and the ball. A few Carolina stops, including an interception and the game was 28-21 Baltimore.
With a 7 point lead, Baltimore started silently milking the clock after the 2 minute warning, and a timeout was called at 1:42 to prevent a possible Baltimore go-for-it struggle cheese 4th down attempt, and force a 4th down punt. Carolina held Baltimore on 3rd and 4, and now it was 4th down with 1:32 remaining. Baltimore kicked to Carolina.
Carolina moved down the field faster than expected, and had 1st and goal at the 7 yard line. A first down pass to the HB was good for a touchdown, and Carolina took the points with 57 seconds remaining, rather than milk out the clock and hope to get the score against the tough Baltimore defense.
Carolina kicked to Baltimore, tied at 28. 1st down for Baltimore, and a long pass to the Baltimore SE, and he is wide open, with nobody around against the Carolina 4-3 Cover WideZone defense in which the lame CB is supposed to drop backwards. So after a 60 yard gain or so, the SE is tackled, and Carolina holds Baltimore to a 4th down and 4 at the 9 yard line on the right hash mark, with 15 seconds left.
Baltimore brings in the kicker, who hooks the kick to the left and it just barley gets inside the left upright. The kickoff ate up the final 8 seconds, and Baltimore celebrated knowing they had escaped a possible overtime game!
