"This is the one we circled at the beginning of the season," Colorado QB Kordell Stewart said. "They talked a lot of trash in another league, but we never got to play them. We have faced Pitt and Miami...they can't be any better."
This showdown has been almost 3 months in the making. Colorado's high-octane, "play like your hair is on fire" offense is averaging 55 points per game. The one problem: A defense that allows over 58 per game. The defense was much better the past few weeks...holding a good Clemson squad in check through most of the game. If the CU offense can catch fire and the CU defense play with the same intensity, CU could win by blowout. But that hasn't been the case all year. Look for TAM to win because of defense. Defense, defense, defense. CU hasn't stopped anybody...why would A&M be any different?
