In game one of this series, TAMU jumped out to a 17-0 lead and Kansas never recovered, losing 38-21.
Now in game two Kansas had one last chance to get back in the playoff race, and to make a long story short...IT FAILED MISERABLY.
Kansas scored on their first drive to lead 7-0, but TAMU countered with a score to make it 7-7.
Kansas was stopped, and TAMU took a 14-7 lead. Kansas would score to tie it again, but TAMU scored to end the 1st half.
21-14 Aggies.
In the 3rd, TAMU had 2 chances to put it away. First, they missed a 25 yd FG off the post. Then, after a Kansas INT, they missed on 4th down at the Kansas 35.
Kansas finally got a drive going, getting 1st and goal at the TAMU 1. What took place next was an amazing defensive display.
1STG AND GOAL AT THE TAMU 1: Kansas QB sneak loses 1 yd.
2ND AND GOAL AT THE 2: Kansas QB sneak gains 1 yard
3RD AND GOAL AT THE 1: Kansas QB sneak loses 1 yd
4TH AND GOAL AT THE 2: Kansas throws a lob to the left. The WR is double covered, and the ball is untouched as it floats out of the endzone over everyone's heads. Then, it what can only be considered laughable and a complete joke, the game calls PASS INTERFERENCE on TAMU.
1ST AND GOAL AT THE 1. QB sneak loses 1 yd
2ND AND GOAL AT THE 2: Pass play is deflected and incomplete
3RD AND GOAL AT THE 2: QB sneak gains nothing
4TH AND GOAL AT THE 2 (Its really 8th and goal): Kansas runs the option left, and TAMU forces the pitch backwards, where the RB takes it in at the 8 yd line with 2 guys to beat. The first one misses, the 2nd one dives onto the RB's back, and then falls off harmlessly as the RB escapes into the endzone for a TD.
21-21, are you kiddin me? Great defense wasted by 2 miracle BS plays.
Despite this, TAMU struck back with a 20 yd TD to make it 28-21 Aggies. Then, they INTd Kansas and got the ball back in the 4th.
They ran the ball to the RB to the left, but Kansas was all over him. However, he cut back to the right and then turned upfield between the hash marks where a wall of blockers awaited. He then shifted left, juked the safety, and back to between the hashes, where he outran the whole defense for a 45 yd TD run, the best run of the year by far.
TAMU then forced a fumble on the kickoff and scored again.
KANSAS STOMPED 42-21.
TAMU 3-2
Kansas 0-5
